Gas masks can have a very eery look. A good example of this is the TV series "doctor who" and the episode "The Empty Child". This has a child who is trying to find his mother by hacking through phones, typewriters and other communication devices. It is set in the war and his face merges into a gas mask. This scared millions of people across the nation which is what gave us our idea.
