Question Seven

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Looking back at our preliminary task you can see instantly that the pace between bot has changed a lot. The original task was slow and dragging whereas with Gasmask we now have a storyline that flows. This I believe is because we now have more understanding of the editing techniques and shots that can be used to make the film more fluid. This can be shown by the close ups, panning and other shots that won't really been seen in our preliminary task. By using fades it made changes between scenes easier and flow better without throwing off the audiences attention In all this shows the evolution between the task and the final.

Question Five

How did you attract/address your audience?

In all I believe that we have successfully reached our target audience. Even with some confusion with our opening sequence it would seem the people who have seen it would want to watch on to find out what happens as the film continues through the story line and so shows an interest from a possible audience. As horror itself has a rather large following it would have plenty of interest, with the sub-genre being teen slasher/gore there would be a slightly smaller following due to more squeamish people probably not having much of an interest in the film. Also, given the sub-genre of teen slasher there is already a target audience along with it as such horrors tend to be targeted towards the younger generations of teenagers. This is useful as during production we didn't really think of a target audience as much as we should have but in all our product and it's target audience seems to have worked out well.

Question Four

Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our audience should be teenagers and young adults, probably ranging from 15 to mid/late twenties. As we have chosen to rate out product a 15 it would also mean that our audience would be unlikely to be younger than that on the certificate. The majority of people to watch it I would assume would be male as it is horror and would have some rather violent and graphic scenes but given horrors have recently gained a large female following then the amount of male and female to watch it may be rather similar.
Due to our genre of horror, fans of the genre may want to watch it to see if it is as good as some of it's predecessors. Due to the story line being fairly original it may make people interested and make them want to watch it and see what may happen.

Though our opening sequence may be hard to follow all would be made clear through watching the rest of the project and so making the audience want to watch the film even more building anticipation about the film and possibly creating more of an audience for for our film. Also, when asking people about our film it was 16-17 year olds that showed the most interested in our film idea and what they had already seen from our opening sequence.
