1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

In our media product we have taken inspiration from other films that are related to our genre. Our 2 minute film shows factors of horror through tense scenes and a thrilling story line. 

For example we use diegetic sound to create suspense while an image of a knife is being pulled from a bag by Chloe. The scene is done slowly again to build up tension and helping to create that thrill a horror should hold.


We became inspired by films such as Texas chainsaw massacre and Jeepers Creepers. We took inspiration from these as they are highly well known and clear examples of good horrors. 

You could say that our film shows a short clip of what is yet to come. Take scream for example they show an opening clip of what it is all about giving the audience an overview of the film. Our short clip does this, it explains to the audience what it is about and explains to them what it is we are trying to show. Horrors tend to show close ups often, something we have tried to do to show not only expression but also to show the audience objects that the killer uses. That whole idea of creating suspense and horror.
