1. A detective walks along an
abandoned corridor (apartment building) and into a room numbered 18. Inside the
room is an empty apart from a table with some paper on is. The detective walks
over and looks through the papers. They have names, numbers, addresses and
photos of people who have gone missing within the last few days. She runs out
the room with the papers in hand. The door closes behind her revealing a hooded
figure. Titles. The detective is in an alley way next to a missing sign with
one of the pieces of paper in his hand. Matching the photos and missing posters
she starts to look around the site talking to herself about what she is trying
to find traces of.
A woman
walking the other way texting almost falls over the detective and drops her
phone, it smashes. Angrily she starts to shout at the detective who is still
rambling about the case. The detective walks away and swops the papers round in
her hand the picture of a male. The woman who was shouting at her (who happens
to be a journalist) follows her claiming she knows the man. They soon come to
another street corner with the matching missing poster. The detective looks
around in the same way. She talks to herself but this time the journalist
answers her rambling. Together they walk
to the next wanted poster and repeat the process. By now they are close to
unravelling the common factor between the ‘kidnappings’.
The
detective decides to go home to figure out the rest however the journalist
insists that she come too as it would make a good article. They go home and
draw out the common factors on a sheet explaining as they go along. All of a
sudden the doorbell rings, the journalist goes down to get it. There is an
envelope with a DVD inside. She takes it upstairs to the detective who puts it
on.
The DVD
shows a woman kneeling on the floor with a gun to her head. Then cuts to a dog.
A hooded figure comes into shot with a large canister that looks like some type
of gas. The figure puts on a mask and opens the canister. The dog goes to the
floor and dies. The DVD then cuts back to the woman with a gun to her head but
this time the hooded figure is in shot. It puts the gun on the floor and brings
a similar canister onscreen. It then goes black.
The
detective tells the journalist to keep watching the part with the dog to find
where it could have been filmed. The screen then splits. One half shows the
detective at the apartment building from earlier and the journalist drawing out
silietts from the back ground and checking them on a map. She draws on map and
calculates the time of day trying to work out where abouts on the map the
gassing took place. The detective becomes locked in the apartment with several
canisters around her. A sign is on the back wall, “ONLY ONE IS LIVE, YOU HAVE
ONE HOUR.”
The screen
opens up another shot of the hooded figure running down a street. The shots
cuts to the journalist doing the same with the map in her hand with a circled
area. The shots keep flicking between
each other occasionally with a shot of the detective looking for the live
canister. The cuts keep getting faster.
It then
cuts to a shot of the woman from the DVD who has the gun in her hands. She
shoots.
We see feet
slow down, knees drop to the floor followed by the body.
The
detective has found the live canister and pulls out the cord on it. With that
the door opens to reveal a map with a ring around it-the same map the
journalist had.
The
detective runs to the street with the map in hand.
She sees
the feet and the journalist and runs to her. Her eyes are closed. The detective
shouts for help.
Scene cuts
to a hospital where the journalist lies in bed. She opens her eyes as the
detective explains
-Voice
over-
The woman who shot the journalist was really
the ‘mastermind’ and the hooded figure was really the captive. The hooded
figure was the last missing person as the others bodies were in with the
canisters. Each one was mad to kidnap another person so that the mastermind was
never found out, when they came close to finding the answer she made herself
look like the victim. Because the journalist was so close to finding out the
truth she was shot. Another person was kidnapped and the hooded figure was put
with the rest of the body’s in a new placement…this happened to be the house
next door the detectives.
2. A girl
sits in bed watching a film, its morning and the sun is rising. She gets ready
for work (montage) and sets out to work. On her way she hears a bird as she
always does but this morning she decides to see it. She walks down a different
street where the sound is coming from. As she does she looks up to see a person
standing on top of a building, she jumps. She runs to help the person but when
she gets there they are gone and everyone is carrying on as normal.
So she
decides to go back where she came from and get to work. But the moment keeps
replaying in her mind. The persons face, a woman, the ways she fell with such
force, her scream.
She hears a
bird again. This time she ignores it. The bird comes even louder in a shrieking
tone. In surrender she goes to look this time she comes to a wood. It’s all
dark except for a strange light coming from the trees, she looks up to see the person
who jumped from the building, high upon a tree. They jump. Exactly the same as
before but all different at the same time, they hung themselves. The girl
decides to run back on her route to work.
She replays
this image in her mind and remembers this person was a man but the definition
between the two events is becoming one. She gets to work. She sits at her
computer desk.
There it
was again, the bird, she looked out of the window on to the streets of houses.
There she saw a woman stab herself. But
also she saw an elderly woman have a heart attack.
Scared she
decided to go home. A day ill in bed was sure to help. She got in the elevator
alone and pressed the down button. It began to go down but stopped on level 6.
The lights flickered off.
Only the
screams of the 4 people she had seen die hung in the air. She could see nothing
but then he could see everything. All the death playing at once only with many
more at the same time.
Then it all
went dark, the screams stopped and the lift carried on going down.
The birds
where crying.
At the
bottom the doors opens to reveal the girl dead on the floor.
